We have an update for you: Since Structured 4.4.8, when tapping a task on the bigtimeline or inboxwidget, it will take you to the timeline or inbox, respectively, highlighting the tapped task.

Hi Emily, Accessing Structured via the widgets always opened the respective task, not the timeline.
I have my widgets on my home screen, including my inbox with my to do lists. When I click on the inbox widget, it will automatically complete which ever task I clicked on, rather than just opening the app and letting me choose.

Please tap the task’s icon on the widget to open the task and not check it off. 😊
The info and content displayed in widgets take up almost all of the real estate of the widget. Right now when i tap on any part of the widget, it registers the tap as me marking off the task within widget view or automatically suggesting to edit it when opening up the app. But all I wanna do is have a widget that displays info at a glance from my home screen while also serving as a way for me to tap into the widget to open up the app to full screen on my mobile phone. Especially when we may have big fingers etc. Perhaps some users like the current functionality but for many of us, we want the option to disable making edits right from widget view itself. The widget is extremely crucial and likely used by majority of users everyday. Can we at least have this option to enable or disable editing from widget view and allow tapping of widget to simply open up the app?
It’s one of the reasons i’m still trying around and unsure whether to plunge into paid plan yet.

Yes this! Drives me insane having to exit out of the task tapped on when opening through the widget, would love for it to just open up to the main page and can do any editing/completing from there.

Went through all the suggestions to find exactly this. The widget is kind of unusable* without this in my opinion, but it doesn’t need to be an ON/OFF feature.
I love being able to preview the 3 next tasks in a widget, but if I tap it, I am not trying to complete an item, I am trying to open the app! The full app doesn’t do this strikethrough thing, so it just isn’t intuitive.
Tapping on the words or background should only open the app. Checkboxes can be included to the right of the task just like the full app. I would not mind if this reduces the amount of the task title you can see. Or, the task icons could be removed or smaller to make room for checkmark circles.
*I just now learned you can tap the icon instead of the word, so it’s usable if I remember to do that, but I still prefer to change the strike through function.

Option to disable marking off tasks from widget
