Icon styling for upcoming items

Requesting that the icons for upcoming items be more distinguishable. I find it a lot easier to identify when the icons are filled with color (ie. when that scheduled item time has passed). Can we have an option for some users to keep it full color as a default? This would allow me to quickly glance to see my schedule vs reading. thanks!
