Add date to widget

Would it be possible to add today’s date to the iPhone widgets? This would be very convenient since the date does not display anywhere else on the home screen.

This could also solve another problem. Right now, when I click the widget, there is no blank space to click, so I inadvertently end up clicking on the tasks and accidentally marking them as complete. The date would provide somewhere within the widget to click so you can open the app without marking anything as complete.

Right now I can see 3 upcoming tasks. It would be fine if I could only see the date + 1 or 2 upcoming tasks.
